School Festival
The school festival is one of the biggest events of Nakamura Senior High. The school festival, which continues for three days, is held in the middle of September.
The Sports festival is held on the first day. It consists of not only track and recreational events but also what we call "cheering performance", for which students are busy preparing for months. The students are divided into eight groups called "blocks", each of which is given its own unique color, and students are supposed to wear "class T shirts" of their block color in order to attend the events. The competition for the best performance of cheer leading and the best work for big board paintings is enjoyed by all students, teachers, and families of our school. After the Sports Festival comes the two-day Cultural Festival, during which you can enjoy many exhibitions and dramas presented by all the classes and some clubs. Students are busy and carefully consider what kind project to do in order to please other students as well as visitors from outside the school. Many people come to see the festival, which is planned and produced almost entirely by the students. The Cultural Festival is an opportunity for students to show their talents in various fields. Some classes put on a play, others open restaurants and provide all students and teachers with many kinds of food over the two days. And other classes demonstrate what they have been researching and studying. Interclass Ballgames
In May we have interclass ballgames and students design their class T shirt for this event. Students, participating as members of their class for the purpose of promoting friendship among classmates, enjoy assorted ball game matches, such as volleyball, basketball and soccer.
School Excursion
The School Excursion is held in early October for second grade students. We are sure that this event becomes the most significant, pleasant, and unforgettable memory for students.
The main destinations are Hiroshima and Kurashiki. Students enjoy sightseeing at Miyajima, the Ohara Museum of Fine Arts, Konpira Shrine and other sightseeing spots which they choose on their own. Day Outing
This event is held in early October for 1st and 3rd graders. Students decide where to go and what to do on the day outing. Some classes enjoy a barbecue, or picking apples.
This is a very enjoyable and refreshing event that gives students a chance to experience nature and friendship, and to study how important it is to cooperate with one another in outdoor activities. Reading Session
The Reading Session is one of the traditional events of Nakamura Senior High. Each class is supposed to choose one book and students are encouraged to discuss its topic and theme. Doing so provides an opportunities for students to better understand one another. Hence, through this activity, students grew to appreciate various ways of thinking and evaluating things.
